My work has never fit neatly into just one box—and I like it that way. One day might mean photographing a family or a child’s yearly school portrait, another could be dancers, a corporate event, a laboratory, or something small in nature that becomes a piece of art.
After nearly two decades behind the camera, I still love the variety and the challenge of creating photographs that fit the people, businesses, and stories in front of me.

Hi, I’m Kara
I’ve been behind the camera since 2006, and one of the things I still love most about photography is that no two days look quite the same. I might be photographing a family, a homeschool picture day, dancers in the studio, a corporate event, or the small details in nature that eventually become part of my fine art collection.
Over the years, photography has taken me into studios, homes, businesses, laboratories, theaters, events, and plenty of places I never expected when I first picked up a camera. I love figuring out what each person, business, or project needs and creating photographs that feel right for them rather than trying to make everything fit the same mold.
After years of working throughout Chicagoland, my family and I now call Northwest Indiana home. I’m excited to continue working with the clients and studios I’ve known for years while getting to know more families, businesses, dancers, and communities here in NWI.
